Dr Eleanor Sutton -
I qualified from Edinburgh University as a clinical psychologist in 2003 and am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Since qualifying I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, both NHS and private, which include child and adolescent mental health (community and inpatient), paediatrics and adult mental health. For a number of years I also worked concurrently as a clinical lecturer in Edinburgh and at UEA, teaching and supervising trainee clinical psychologists. My teaching interests were predominantly child development, child and adolescent mental health and parenting.
As a clinical psychologist, I am trained to assess, formulate, treat and evaluate outcomes across a wide range of developmental and clinical problems, using what we know from research evidence and psychological theory to inform what we do. I have a particular interest in psychological trauma including developmental trauma in children and young people and birth trauma in parents, and am trained to use EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy) with both adults and children.
