My DetailsMy Background
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and am registered with the ACP (Association of Child Psychotherapists). On qualifying as a Child Psychotherapist in 2003, I worked in a specialist Looked After Children’s CAMHS Team for 21 years; for a number of years this team also offered support to adopted children and their families.
In parallel to my work in CAMHS, I also work in an Autism Assessment Team, and a Complex Needs team. Within the Complex Needs Team I offer support to parents (and/or parent-child work) of children under the age of 5 with complex medical needs.
Prior to training as a Child Psychotherapist, I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1991 and worked in both inpatient and out-patient settings with children, teenagers and their families. I have worked in the NHS for 36 years.
I have done additional training in systemic family therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) Levels 1 and 2, and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for both adults and children.
