My DetailsI am a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and am registered with the ACP (Association of Child Psychotherapists).
On qualifying as a Child Psychotherapist in 2003, I worked in a specialist Looked After Children’s CAMHS Team for 21 years; for a number of years this team also offered support to adopted children and their families. In parallel to this role, I also worked in an NHS Autism Assessment Team and a Complex Needs Team. My current roles are working part-time in a CAMHS Team and part-time as a Mental Health Practitioner at an Independent School for young people aged 11-18.
Prior to training as a Child Psychotherapist, I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1991 and worked in both inpatient and out-patient settings with children, teenagers and their families. I have worked in the NHS for 36 years, 33 of which have been with children and adolescents.
I have done additional training in systemic family therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) Levels 1 and 2, and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for both adults and children.
