I have specialised in neuro-developmental conditions, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder, since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2016. Before qualifying I encountered individuals throughout the lifespan in my NHS work who I believed had unrecognised Autism which appeared to be contributing to their current needs. This helped me finalise my decision to specialise in this much needed area of work.
My Background
I believe that the process of having an assessment for possible Autism can and should be therapeutic for those undergoing it and their loved ones. A part of my job I enjoy the most is witnessing individuals and their families understand and enjoy each other in new ways as a result of the assessment and feedback process.
I have worked in the NHS for 10 years and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I continue to work in a specialist NHS neuro-developmental assessment service for young people alongside my role in Help for Psychology.
