I am an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist, registered with HCPC and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
I graduated from the University of Ulster, with a BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy. Since then, I have mostly worked within Norfolk in both NHS and Private sectors supporting children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs. During my career, I have specialised in supporting young people with dysfluency, neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. autism) and learning disabilities (LD) including young people who are non-verbal and use augmentative alternative communication (AAC). I am trained to administer and code the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) which forms part of the diagnostic process. I have experience in assessing and supporting young people who present with a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) autism profile, both with and without a learning disability.
I currently work within private practice carrying out neurodevelopmental condition assessments as well as speech and language therapy assessments, and within an NHS child and adolescent mental health learning disability (CAMHS LD) team. Prior to this, I worked within an NHS Neurodevelopmental Service carrying out Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments.
