As clinical team lead here at Help for Psychology, Lauren also undertakes neurodevelopmental assessments with children, young people, and adults for both autism and ADHD.

Lauren is a qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational therapists (RCOT).

Since 2022, Lauren has specialised in the neurodevelopmental field. During this time, Lauren has assessed children, young people, and adults for autism, ADHD and dyspraxia for both the NHS and private organisations. This work also includes delivering training and support groups for parents and carers and leading neurodevelopmental teams. She also worked within a specialist learning disability and crisis mental health service for children and young people (LD CAMHS). Before this, Lauren gained experience working with autistic young people experiencing acute and chronic pain and neurological conditions.

Lauren is a qualified Sensory Integration Practitioner and has experience delivering specialist sensory integration assessment and intervention with children, young people, and adults. She has a particular interest and skillset in working with the nervous system to support regulation for all neurodivergent people and their families, understanding this to be a key foundation for supporting independence and wellbeing.

Within her practice, Lauren uses a neuroaffirming approach, recognising the power of her words and actions and their impact on the neurodivergent people she works with. She also takes a person-centred approach to her work, ensuring neurodivergent people feel seen, heard and understood, acknowledging that this experience can be life-changing for many neurodivergent people.
