My Background
Alexandra (Alex) qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2018 from Staffordshire University and currently works as the Clinical Lead for Psychology in an NHS neurodevelopmental team alongside her associate work. Alex brings 20 years of pre and post qualification experience of working with infants, children, young people and families in a variety of settings and specialisms including – an Under 5’s autism assessment service, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) for children with Learning Disabilities, a local authority Children Looked After (CLA/LAC) service, and within the field of education, including working both in and closely with mainstream and specialist schools.
Alex has a number of special interests and has worked with many different presentations of need, but her passion and dedication to supporting families remains the same for all. Alex enjoys being creative in her work, drawing from a variety of models and thinking ‘outside the box’ to engage clients, such as including their pets in sessions! Alex combines a collaborative and PACEful approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) in working with families to nurture relationships and improve emotional health and wellbeing.
