I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2013. Since this time, I have worked for the NHS, in Suffolk, supporting children/young people and their families, across a range of settings, including; clients homes, clinics, children’s centres, pre-schools, schools, and special support units. This has provided me with experience working with a wide range of communication presentations.
My interest in neurodevelopmental conditions led me to specialise in this field, and the part time role I maintain for the NHS, involves working with children with complex needs who attend mainstream settings and special support units (SSUs). Alongside working with colleagues to inform diagnosis around neurodivergence.
I began independent work, alongside my NHS role in 2022, to follow my passion for providing a completely tailored service to my caseload. And to work more locally to where I live.
This has further increased my opportunities to work within multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality and timely assessments. I believe this process can support people and their families to have a greater understanding of themselves, including their particular strengths and how to develop or support areas of challenge, improving quality of life.
I am trained in delivering and scoring the ADOS-2 assessments.
I hold the following professional registrations:
– Member of the Royal college of Speech and Language Therapists
– Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
– Member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice.
