Dr Tiffany Talbot
During my career I have worked in the NHS and in Private practice. I have experiencing of working within adult services, learning disability services, with offenders with complex mental health needs and in education settings.
For the past few years I have worked in the NHS in a service providing specialist Autism assessments. My role has involved completing first stage diagnostic assessment interviews and second stage Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2) assessments. I am also involved in gathering a comprehensive developmental history, utilising relevant questionnaires, completing a risk assessment and collating information pertaining to alternative potential diagnoses or understandings where appropriate. I then work with the multidisciplinary team to decide and communicate outcome.
I have experience of working with both adults and children with a range of presenting issues and frequently with complex presentations. I have an open and flexible therapeutic approach focusing on the needs of the individual and am used to adapting both assessments and therapy to meet individual need. I have used structured approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and more flexible approaches such as Cognitive Interpersonal Therapy. This draws on attachment theory and brings together aspects of Schema Focused Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, CBT and Interpersonal therapy.
I am passionate about my career and love the diversity that it offers. I enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team in order a comprehensive approach can be taken and to ensure that the best care and support can provided to the individual.
