Susana is a qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered, a Platinum member of the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) and chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She is also an effective member of the Portuguese Psychologists Order, with over 13 years of experience in working with children and young people in specialist settings, including neurodevelopmental difficulties, mental health problems and learning disabilities.
She completed her studies in 2004 in Portugal and moved to UK in 2014. She has experience in conducting neurodevelopmental assessments and mental health assessments of a range of conditions. She has worked in NHS in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), in the Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT), in Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) and in the Specialist Intellectual Disability Directorate Service – Adults (IDDS). She has also worked in the private sector, including private practice, residential schools for complex needs, and with diagnostic teams conducting assessments for diagnosis and providing psychological therapy. Susana is ADOS-2 and ADI-R trained. Susana provides therapy sessions for several conditions (anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem/ low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, co-dependency, OCD, phobias, emotional and social difficulties, sleeping difficulties and more) and supervises trainees who are undertaking accreditation to become qualified Psychologists.
Susana has a kind and respectful approach to the client and their unique needs. She is passionate and dedicated to conducting assessments, providing psychological therapy and supporting clients to overcome their difficulties.
