I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Dr Victoria Lucas
During my career I have worked in the NHS and in Private practice. I have experience of working within Looked After Children Services, Learning Disability Services and Adult Autism Services as well as working closely with, and offering training for, social work professionals who work with people on the Autistic Spectrum. In addition to this I undertake medico-legal work for the Courts. I also provide private therapy for parents of children who have been fostered or adopted, to enable parents to help best meet their child’s emotional needs.
I have experience of working with both adults and children with a range of presenting issues and frequently with complex presentations. I have an open and flexible therapeutic approach focusing on the needs of the individual and am used to adapting both assessments and therapy to meet individual need. I have used structured approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and more flexible approaches such as Cognitive Interpersonal Therapy and Systemic therapeutic approaches. This draws on attachment theory and brings together aspects of Schema Focused Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, CBT and Interpersonal therapy. I am also trained in Theraplay (an attachment-based play therapy intervention).
I am passionate about my career and love the diversity that it offers. I enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team so that a comprehensive approach can be taken and to ensure that the best care and support can provided to the individual.
