I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2013, however I have been working with adults, young people and families with a range of difficulties since 2006. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I am a Chartered member of The British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have experience of working across a number of different settings including inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, residential care homes, Community Mental Health Teams, and Prisons. As a Clinical Psychologist, I have skills in the assessment and treatment of complex mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties, consultancy, training, and research.
I have a particular interest in providing assessment and intervention to young people and adults who may be experiencing difficulties in their attachment relationships and working with the individual and those around them in order to alleviate distress. I also enjoy working with young people who have complex neurodevelopmental needs (e.g. learning disabilities, autism, ADHD) and who engage in risk related behaviours.
I am incredibly passionate about the recovery and rehabilitation of individuals who suffer with complex issues, including mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties. I offer a non-judgmental approach and I strive to use my skills in assessment and formulation to try and understand the reasons behind any challenging or risk related behaviours. I am keen to work not only with the individual, but also with the system around them in order to develop helpful ways of coping and build on strengths that are already present.
