Dr Louise Walker - Chartered Clinical Psychologist

I am a fully qualified Chartered Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of The British Psychological Society (BPS).

I have been working with adults, young people, children, and families with a range of mental health challenges and emotional distress since 2006.  I have experience working across a number of settings including a NHS/local authority therapeutic school, private and NHS hospitals, and within community mental health teams. I work with people of all ages, integrating a number of therapeutic models into my practice enabling me to tailor the assessment and intervention to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The models I draw upon include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Systemic family therapy and psychodynamic approaches.

My particular interest is working with under 25’s and families for whom I provide assessment and therapeutic interventions for a range of psychological issues including social, emotion and behavioural difficulties, attachment disorders, neuro-developmental disorders (e.g. Autistic Spectrum Conditions - including PDA, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive behaviours, voice hearing, interpersonal problems, and trauma.

At times people are in need of a thorough assessment and report in order to answer a specific question. As a Clinical Psychologists I am trained to administer a number of assessment tools helping to bring clarity to the following areas:
